Q : What do you mean by "progressive evangelical?"

Come to the OPEN Faith National Conference and find out - we'll define it together!

Q : Who is in charge of OPEN?

OPEN is an initiative of Convergence, a movement bringing together forward-thinking Catholics, Evangelicals, and mainline Protestants, along with ethnic and peace churches and other willing colleagues, in a growing movement-building collaborative. OPEN is a co-creation of Michael Kimpan and Doug Pagitt, along with input from a number of other friends, sponsors and fellow collaborators for the common good. In October 2015, OPEN held a National Summit hosted at Solomon's Porch in Minneapolis. The OPEN Faith National Conference in October 2016 will be hosted at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis.

Q : Is this event for church-based leaders?

It is, but by no means is it only for them. Whether you're a pastor, a volunteer leader, or just interested in all things faith - your own or our collective expressions - OPEN Faith is for you. Top thought-leaders and practitioners will share their most inspiring ideas and practices at OPEN Faith, exploring new ways of being Christian - new integrations, conversations, and dreams.

Q : How should I get there, and where should I stay?

Indianapolis is a great city, with relatively low airfares and affordable hotels and a number of Airbnb options. You can also use our Facebook group to arrange shared rental cars and hotel rooms. We also have a room block at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Indianapolis North, 3912 Vincennes Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46268. Or you might want to contact a local friend and crash on a couch.

Q : Are meals provided?

Another way we keep registration costs reasonable is by not providing meals. During lunch on Thursday and Friday, we will have food trucks with meals available for purchase, and for dinner on Thursday, you can sign up at registration to attend a cookout with other conference-goers. Otherwise, there are many great restaurants nearby to campus. Christian Theological Seminary is also offering a $3 bottomless coffee option for the duration of the conference, and we'll be selling cool #OPENFaith2016 mugs along with it!

Q : What is  your refund policy if I can't make it for some reason?

In order to keep all of our events and conferences affordable, OPEN works efficiently. We have a minimal staff, and try to keep overhead (like credit card transaction fees) to a minimum. For that reason, we do not offer refunds for cancelled registrations; however, up until 7 days prior to the event, you can transfer your registration to another person, or you can bank your registration fee for a future OPEN event.

Q : What is the Venue for the OPEN Faith Conference?

OPEN Faith will be held at Christian Theological Seminary (CTS) in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Christian Theological Seminary, 1000 W. 42nd Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208

Q : I'm flying in from another city - how do I get to the site?

The area is served by Indianapolis International Airport (about 25 minutes from CTS). Taxi service is available between the airport and the Seminary Campus. You are welcome to post on the OPEN Network Facebook group page to coordinate with others to share a room or car ride.
